Social Entrepreneurship for Social Change 14.11.2014

 The main aim of the project is to equip youth workers with necessary knowledge, skills and tools that will enable them to facilitate the change in attitude of young people regarding social problems in their respective communities and inspire social change.   Based on the above aim, the objectives are as below: Raising awareness about social problems Gaining knowledge regarding social entrepreneurship Introducing tools regarding how social enterprises tackle societal problems To motivate youth workers in order to undertake social entrepreneurship as a force for social change To introduce necessary tools to youth workers on how to find innovative ways of tackling social problems To develop pilot projects which address social challenges in their organisations or community Equipping youth workers with the relevant skills of how they can cope with social problems in their society   The training will take place 14-20 November 2014 in Centrum Hotel, Nicosia.   Participating ...

YouthAid Festival: New Date 29.07.2013

Minus One, Papiyion, Prospectus, Gommalar and Strange Union return on Monday 29 July 2013 at the Famagusta Gate Moat in Nicosia, 19:00 till midnight, to play for the YouthAid festival, after last Thursday’s rain made it dangerous to use the equipment and stage and forced the festival's cancellation. The bands profess their excitement to share one night, one stage, one music dedicated to the power and the potential of the youth to shape their future as they desire. An Interview With The Invisible Other Premier 12.07.2013

  On Friday 12 July 2013 "An interview with the "invisible" other," a documentary on racism and immigrant rights in the Greek-Cypriot community premiers as part of a conference under the same title, starting at 17:00, at the Home for Cooperation in the Ledra Palace Buffer Zone, Nicosia. "An interview with the "invisible" other," is a Youth Power Small Grants project, launched in April 2013 and implemented by Petros Nicolaou and Petros Heracleous. Collective Bahçe Closing Event 28.06.2013

Music from around the world and Cyprus to celebrate the completion of the Community Garden named “Collective Bahçe”, at the “Linear Volunteers Park” in Kaimakli, (the former railway track between V. Voulgaroktou and Smirnis Street), on Friday 28 June 2013, 18:00 - 21:00.   The Community Garden is a Youth Power Small Grants project, implemented by Utopia Collectiva, open to all residents of Cyprus, which has included a number of events aiming to advocate and provide tools towards the development of a sustainable collaborative community, organic agriculture and to promote an alternative, sustainable and healthy lifestyle for young people in the present times of socio-economic uncertainty.  Securing €7,500 of seed funding by the Youth Power Small Grants Round III – Advocacy, has enabled the collective to proceed with its plans to develop the Community Garden project in three months (April – June 2013).
