Cyprus Youth TO-GEt-THERe, a Youth Power Small Grants project designed and implemented by the Cultural Movement of Limassol Epilogi and the Famagusta Youth Centre (MAGEM), is pleased to announce the 20th Painting Camp and Exhibition for young artists, taking place in the village of Omodos, from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 July, 2012.
Cyprus Youth TO-GEt-THERe, the bicommunal youth project developed by the Cultural Movement of Limassol “Epilogi” in cooperation with the Famagusta Youth Centre (MAGEM), organizes the 20th Painting Camp and Exhibition for young artists in Omodos from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 July, 2012. The event aims to create a common ground for the youth of both communities to come together and create artworks strengthening in this way the transcommunal dialogue and relationships. This year, the event in Omodos celebrates Epilogi’s 20th anniversary in the field of the arts and is supported by the local Community Council. 20 young Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot artists, aged between 15 and 18 have the chance to take part in this 4-day painting camp, whose goal is to expand their creative horizons by means of different workshops and activities. All the produced works will be exhibited on Sunday 15 July, 2012, from 11:00 am onwards, in the forecourt of the Holy Cross Church of Omodos and the best art will win exciting awards. The Mixed Choir of Epilogi will grant a special music recital for the benefit of the visitors.
Cyprus Youth TO-GEt-THERe is made possible through the Youth Power Small Grants and funded by UNDP-ACT. The 20th Painting Camp and Exhibition is also funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Omodos Community Council.
