Youth Power Party (30.01.2012)

The Home for Cooperation across the Ledra Palace Hotel, was overflowing with activity on Monday night, as people from all over Cyprus came to participate to our Youth Power Party. Youth activists, peace workers and plenty of other interested individuals, got together to celebrate peace, the new identity of Youth Power and to find out about our new programme, aimed at financing bi-communal peace initiatives, the Youth Power Small Grants. The evening rolled pleasantly with snacks and drinks, to the sounds of the guitar and the violin. Plenty of gifts were given out to every guest, the independent young group of Youth Leaders and Cultural Activists was awarded special tokens of appreciation for their outstanding contribution to peace activism, and a treasure hunt was held to claim a fabulous Kindle Fire! The Youth Power team wishes to thank all the participants for their lovely presence and their precious support!

“We are delighted with the amazing turnout at the party!” says Project Manager, Sezis Thompson. “Our friends were visibly intrigued and excited about the new phase of our work, so we, as Youth Power, will make sure our network keep responding to the young people’s efforts towards peace and tolerance in the coming months.”

For her part, Associate Project Manager, Katerina Antoniou, adds: “The feeling of support we’re getting from our young people is amazing; so now, we believe even more that they are the ones capable of bringing about significant changes in Cyprus, through their powerful contribution to the peace process. Our goal remains, always, to stand firmly by them.”
