Youth Power announces the third round of Small Grants, whose initial phase has opened on Tuesday 15 January and will run until Friday 15 February, 2013. Registered organizations, informal groups and individuals are now able to apply for the grants, the overall figure of which amounts to €34,250. Each project is eligible for funding ranging from €1,000 to €15,000. A total of €23,500 were given to three projects during Round I and €32,250 were given to three more in Round II. Information days for Round III are held on Monday 21 January and Monday and 4 February 2013, 9:00 – 17:00, at the Crossroads Caffè, Home for Cooperation, Ledra Palace Buffer Zone, Nicosia.

Round III of the Youth Power Small Grants focuses on the theme of advocacy. For the purposes of this program, a youth advocacy project is defined as a project prepared by young people, targeting a sociopolitical issue that is of priority to the youth and connecting youth with key policy-makers and the wider public to make an impact on that issue. Youth Power invites all interested parties to visit the General Information and Expression of Interest page for details on the criteria and the application procedure. The Youth Power Small Grants initiative is funded by UNDP ACT.

Youth Power Project Manager Sezıs Thompson states the following:

“We are very excited to announce the third round of the Small Grants initiative. It certainly gave us great pleasure and satisfaction to see what the previous winners have accomplished with amazing initiatives such as Street Art For Peace, Roda Da Vida and Reading The Lines. We would like to see more people realizing their dream projects with the Round III of the Youth Power Small Grants.”
