Graffiti for Peace

At the buffer zone, a bicommunal project indented to use the art of graffiti as a means for reconciliation and Peace took place in June, 2012. The art of graffiti often has the reputation of being part of a subculture that rebels use against authority. In this project the art of graffiti and its 'rebellious' nature, will be employed in order to disseminate ideas and messages about peace and reconciliation.

Youth Power

Youth Power is a network of 12 diverse, Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot organisations that promote or affiliate with youth activism. Its mission is to inspire, energise and strengthen the youth's efforts to shape a peaceful and sustainable future, for a multicultural Cyprus.

One StreetS Festival 2011

With the slogan "CTRL+ALT+DEL", the Youth Leaders and Cultural Activists', an independent group of young Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, took over Morphou, Limassol and Nicosia with the One StreetS Festival. The events included DJs, live music, dancing, theatre performances as well as graffiti, bazaars and photo exhibitions. One StreetS Festival was supported by Youth Power.


Youth visited various villages around the island to experience traditional arts and crafts.

KAYAD Peace Declaration

On 20 November, 2011, young Cypriots from across the island came together to discuss their vision of a reconciled Cyprus for the year 2020.
